Sleep Issues During Pregnancy

pregnant sleepEveryone knows that pregnancy puts an unusual burden on a women’s body and may lead to various health issues. Among other things, many pregnant women suffer from lack of good sleep. This can be because of the hormonal changes in the body and due to the challenges of finding a comfortable position.

The National Sleep Foundation conducted studies that show that nearly 75% of the pregnant women surveyed suffered from varying degrees of sleeplessness.

According to the study, “Common sleep issues during pregnancy can include difficulty falling asleep, frequent wakening and decreased sleep quality, all leading to daytime fatigue. However, many women do not realize that the risk for sleep apnea and restless leg syndrome also increases throughout pregnancy.”

These problems may be common, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t look for relief. Obviously, sleeping meds are not the solution – even when you’re not pregnant! A better way is to use one of the many beautiful sleep CDs on the market to help you relax and fall alseep. They are non- addictive and not expensive.

Treat yourself to a good night’s sleep!
