Tinnitus Affects 12 Million in the US Alone

By one conservative estimate, there are at least 12 million Americans who have tinnitus. Eight percent of those who have it say that it regularly interferes with their daily activities.
What can become even more problematic is that the ringing or clicking sound tinnitus sufferers experience can be more pronounced in quiet settings, such as in the bedroom before going to sleep.
Alternatives to Tinnitus Medication
Where medication seems like the least desirable option here is what some people do:
- There are hearing aids where some relief may be supplied to the tinnitus condition since the device provides restored listening ability.
- Cognitive Therapy—It is sometimes used in combination with masking devices or medication to improve results.
- Tinnitus Retraining Therapy—The brain has a natural ability to filter out unwanted noise, such as that produced by computers and refrigerators.
- Biofeedback—This is a relaxation technique that can help you manage stress by changing your reaction to it. Some people find it helpful in coping with tinnitus.
- Dental Treatment—If tinnitus is caused by temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome, a problem with the joint in your jaw, specialized dental treatment may help relieve symptoms.
- Cochlear Implants— cochlear implants may provide some degree of tinnitus relief, but are designed for mainly person with advancing deafness.
- Lifestyle modifications—A doctor or a health practitioner may advise a Tinnitus patient to avoid exposure to loud sounds and noises, and alter their daily habits.

Cool Post I will be checking back
A large number of individuals do not realize that Ringing ears is not really a disease, but merely a warning sign connected with another primary issue. You need to see a doctor so that you can eliminate any specific severe disease first, and once that is taken care of, you may then begin to address the actual offender that is causing you difficulties. There are successful therapies that can decrease and perhaps even eliminate your tinnitus conditions, nevertheless finding the cause is sometimes difficult unless you know where to look.
Thanks Kearby for you comment. We know there are a number of different way to treat this uncomfortable condition.
We agree that tinnitus is not a disease, but a symptom of something else.
We have found that many people suffer from sleep issues due to the ringing and have had good feedback from people using our Sleepsonic pillow and some kind of relaxing music like sleep CDs. Although the issue is not remedied per se, they are mitigating one of the side effects and by getting a good night’s sleep not making maters worse.
